OPENING CEREMONY OF SINELSON AERO (TIANJIN) Co., Ltd

On November 18, 2011 in Tianjin, SONACA and ELTRA have celebrated the opening of their common Chinese company SINELSON AERO (Tianjin) Co., Ltd in the presence of Chinese government officials, representatives of the shareholders, of Airbus and its partners, and other aviation industry professionals. SINELSON AERO (Tianjin) Co., Ltd is in charge of assembling and testing the wing slats to be installed on the single aisle aircraft assembled at the Airbus A320 Family Final Assembly Line China (FALC) in Tianjin.
The slats components sent from Belgium by SONACA SA are received, assembled and tested by SINELSON AERO (Tianjin) Co., Ltd before the delivery to the FALC for final installation on the aircraft. The associated logistics is entrusted to Airbus (Tianjin) Logistics with whom an agreement was concluded recently.
The first shipset of slats assembled by SINELSON AERO (Tianjin) Co., Ltd shall be delivered to the FALC by the end of November 2011.
Already partners since 2004 in two Brazilian production units in charge of manufacturing sheet metal and machined parts for the aeronautical sector, SONACA and ELTRA have decided to join forces again, but this time on Asian soil. In 2010, they set up a holding company in Hong Kong, ELSON Ltd, and just afterwards an industrial oriented company was set up in PR China. Located in Tianjin New Binhai Comprehensive Bonded Area, a few steps from the FALC, SINELSON AERO (Tianjin) Co., Ltd was founded officially on November 25, 2010.
SINELSON AERO (Tianjin) Co., Ltd makes concrete the first steps of the industrial cooperation between SONACA and ELTRA in China. The two partners are determined to further develop the activity of SINELSON AERO (Tianjin) Co., Ltd, notably by offering services such as for example a local product support for aerostructures delivered by SONACA.
SONACA SA, a Belgian company specialized in development, production and certification of aerostructures and associated systems, has been partner of AIRBUS since 1978. SONACA is in charge of the wing movable leading edges (slats) for the A320, A330/340, A350 and A380 AIRBUS programs as well as for the fixed leading edges and main landing gear doors of the A400M. Since 1991 SONACA has also been partner of EMBRAER on their ERJ 145 and derivatives program, on their e-Jets 170/190 and derivatives and on their new corporate program under development, named Legacy 450/500. SONACA has also commercial and partnership relations with other aircraft manufacturers, of which BOMBARDIER (C-Series) and DASSAULT (F7X). SONACA GROUP is present on American soil with three subsidiaries in Brazil, one in Canada and one in the United States. The parent company, which has just celebrated its 80th birthday, is located in Gosselies, Belgium. ELTRA specializes in the Rotary and Fixed wings Aftermarket Services and entered this market in the 80’s with OEM parts support in Asia Pacific. Today ELTRA offers a wide range of services such as Marketing & Sales, Spares distribution, Warehousing & Logistics Management, Components MRO, Technical Support, Supply Chain, Cabin Interiors VIP Procurement, Parts manufacturing in cooperation with SONACA SA.
ELTRA, whose headquarters are now based in Singapore since the acquisition in 2011 by Openasia, a well reputed French investor in Vietnam, operates warehousing base in Hong Kong, distribution center in Singapore, components repair station in Beijing, parts manufacturing bases in Brazil and P.R. China as well as Sales and Support offices in China, India, Vietnam and France.
