SONACA is in charge of designing, developing and producing the moveable leading edge system (slats and droop nose) of AIRBUS' new wide-body aircraft. This contract perpetuates a partnership of about 30 years between the European aircraft manufacturer and SONACA. An innovative slat concept, that integrates a composite structure, will be used in this aircraft made of 60% of composite. The programme was started in 2008 and the first deliveries are planned for 2011.
